The prompt of the event was simple: use the power of GridDB Cloud to build any sort of app you want; the webpage for the event made mentions of IoT, but really the prompt was open and users could submit ideas based on any personal interests or expertise. <\/p>\n<p>The event (officially titled as the GridDB IoT Hackathon) had two distinct phases: the aforementioned online phase, where teams of 2-5 could submit their ideas with no coding necessary, just a basic blueprint of how they would plan to implement their idea. The next phase of the event would be an all-out in-person event hosted in Bengaluru, India for the top 5 teams, decided by the judging panel. And as exciting as the in-person event was, we will save that portion for another day. For today&#8217;s article, we will focus on the online portion of the event.<\/p>\n<p>And now, for some numbers. We had over 250 participants sign up for the event through the online portal. From there, we had 28 teams submit their ideas. We had ideas ranging from health, to finance, to on-the-field sensors for a variety of different purposes.
